Susie Shortt - Talented, Masterful Wedding Violinist

Susie Shortt and I met when I was opening a wedding venue outside of Las Vegas a few years back. She wanted to offer her professional violin services to wedding couples looking for an elegant ceremony addition. Susie and I continued to communicate through social media and through time, got to know one another and ended up clicking. We chatted about how she grew up, her famous musician connections and where she drew her music inspiration from. Susie grew up with her family in the Midwest. The Violin was something that she was drawn to since she could walk. When she was just 10 years old, she started to play and her family immediately noticed her God-given talent. Those talents would carry her far. As she grew older, she diligently pursued her classical training. Fast forward to today, Susie has been talented enough to have played and performed with Jennifer Holliday, Barry Manilow, Ronnie Milsap, Olivia Newton-John, Wayne Newton, just to name a few.

Through the years, Susie continued to develop her own style. She's been influenced by the sounds of artists like Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion and others. Her classical training and wide array of musical muses allow Susie to play most genres with the finesse and proficiency as you'd expect. And she does it simplistically, like it's just another "day at the office".

Though her life path occasionally diverted her towards other careers, Susie always returned back to music. The violin was home, a passion that could not be denied. While building her business, she decided to focus on wedding music, which naturally, led her to the wedding capital, Las Vegas. After landing here and working tirelessly to meet clients, it wasn’t long before Susie became one of the most sought-after violinists and ceremony musicians on the Vegas Strip.

As a hopeless romantic herself, Susie enjoys everything about weddings. When she approaches her couples, she is truly interested in what is important to them. She wants to know their music preferences of course, but genuinely enjoys getting to know them on a more personal level.
